Sentient In Action: Designing & Implementing a Management Training Program

The Challenge

A hotel was experiencing difficulties as front-line employees transitioned into managerial roles without having the necessary managerial skills, despite being proficient in their respective job functions. Compounding this, the hotel had a distributed workforce, which was particularly challenging during the winter months when in-person training was not possible. This necessitated the development of an online training solution.

The Approach

The management training program covered essential topics such as leadership development, customer-centricity, and effective communication. The training was designed as a fully online program to provide flexibility and accessibility.

It spanned over three weeks with three meetings per week, totaling approximately 20 hours. The program offered a mix of insightful content and interactive learning experiences, including exercises, breakout room activities, and opportunities for team collaboration to create an engaging and participatory learning environment.

Post-training evaluations reflected high levels of satisfaction, with participants giving an impressive 9.6 out of 10 rating and expressing a strong likelihood of recommending the training to colleagues. Overall, the program received an average rating of 8.78 out of 10, indicating its effectiveness in meeting the objectives of enhancing managerial skills and preparing employees for their roles as supervisors and managers within the hotel.

The Solution

To tackle these challenges, we aimed to enhance the managerial capabilities of the company’s staff through designing a comprehensive management training program.
