Sentient In Action: Designing a Career Toolkit

The Challenge

An international organisation with 20,000 employees faced a significant challenge in its approach to career development. Information regarding how employees could advance and develop within the organisation, and beyond, was highly fragmented. This lack of centralised, accessible resources left employees without a clear tool to consult for their professional growth and career progression.

The Approach

To tackle this issue, we designed a comprehensive, self-paced, workshop-style career development program. Our aim was to establish a centralised hub where employees can access all the necessary information and resources for their career development within the organisation.

Key elements of our approach included:

  • Developing a structured program using Articulate, an e-learning authoring tool, to create an engaging and interactive experience for employees.
  • Organising the content in a self-paced workshop format, enabling employees to progress through the material at their own pace.
  • Creating a centralised hub that aggregates all relevant career development information, including potential career paths, development opportunities, and steps for career progression within the organisation.

The entire program and hub were integrated into Workday, the organisation’s human resource management platform, ensuring seamless access for all employees.

The Solution

The implementation of the Career Toolkit resulted in a transformative impact on the organisation’s approach to employee development. Key outcomes included:

  • A centralised career development hub accessible via Workday, providing employees with a clear, organised resource for career progression.
  • An engaging, self-paced workshop-style program that enables employees to actively engage with the content, complete activities, and track their progress.

By creating and uploading the Career Toolkit to Workday, we provided a valuable resource that streamlined career development information and made it easily accessible to all employees.
